Petitioning Courses
There are several reasons that you may need to petition to use a course for your International Studies major requirements. You may have taken lower division requirements at a community college, you may be attending UCDC or UCCS, or you may plan to study abroad. Most of these courses will not automatically fulfill your major requirements, so you will need to submit a petition form and accompanying documents for each course. Refer to your situation below for more information. For more information about transfer courses, see How to Transfer Courses (Undergraduate) on TritonLink.
Students may petition to use up to four upper-division courses towards their major requirements. This includes courses from other four-year universities, study abroad, Global Seminar, UCDC, UCCS, Academic Internship Program, and Special Studies.
